Food Delivery at the National Hospital of Chimaltenango

On September 18th, we had a food delivery at the National Hospital of Chimaltenango. We chose the hospital this time because there is great need there. We delivered 20 food packages to the pediatric area. The families were so blessed and grateful to receive this much needed support.
The families of the patients struggle, as they are unable to work while they are taking care of their sick children. Since many of the families are already in extreme poverty, this adds an additional burden.
The food provided includes basic food items that will help to feed a family for 15 days. The food bags cost approximately $12.25, although the prices have been increasing some recently.
The hospital staff is working hard, and they also are struggling. We are hoping to help them with a future project. The director, who helped set this up, was sick with COVID-19 recently, but thankfully she has recovered.
