Delivering jackets to the villages
January-March 2021

After the success of our food delivery project and our Christmas gift project, we began to buy gently used jackets to deliver to the underprivileged adults and children of the villages, especially in areas where it was very cold. Many of the people in the poorer villages do not have jackets or blankets to keep them warm. As many of the villages are at higher altitudes, these villages get colder than the tourist areas that I frequently visit. They also do not have electric heat to keep them warm.
Throughout January, February and March, we delivered jackets to those in need. We also delivered a few more in April during my Easter trip to Guatemala.
We were able to find vendors in Guatemala City that helped us find the gently used jackets to buy. Then we collaborated with the village leaders to identify those with the greatest need.
